Sizzling Summer Blog Hop

Hello Everyone and Welcome!

I had so much altering my Prima bike. When the blog hop was first brought up and Barrie and Carol said we would be all altering the Prima bike I was so excited. They said to make it our own and that is just what I have done. I wanted to challenge my self to do things I have never done before. Seeing as this was my first ever blog hop my mantra was "go big or go home". I first started by spray painting my bike with Valspar paint and primer in one spray paint called satin encounter. I have never used a configuration box and I had a few of the Tim Holtz ones on hand and I knew that my bike had to be a stunning decoration piece, a conversation starter. I used the Graphic 45 paper line Couture, a Tim Holtz configuration box, The Tim letter press wood blocks to create the word "amore" which means love in Italian. I also used the Tim Holtz foundations feet also spay painted with the same paint used on the bike because I did not want the feet to blend in. I have also used the Prima wire thread in white to create the floating air balloons. The dies that i used on my bike are the Sizzix angel wings and the Tim Holtz spring greenery decorative strip. I also used a border punch from EK Success called  "double crochet lace". Iinked and edged all of the papers with Distress Ink "Black Soot".

The flowers I used on my bike are Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers. The majority of them were white however some were a blue. I used the Lindys Stamp Gang spray to color the flowers the exact colors I needed. The beauty of the sprays is that even if you do not have white flowers the spray covers and saturates evenly so I could achieve the colors that I needed For My bike I used My Mojito  Green on the vines. I then used the following colors on the flowers Sea Mint Green, Tibetan Poppy Teal, Shabby Turbine Teal, Whale Watch Blue, Wild Honeysuckle Coral, Cowabunga Copper, and Tiffanylou Blue. I also had some plain white WOC flowers that I sprayed with the Blazing Sun spay to really make them shine. I also had in my floral stash a package of  WOC skeleton leaves which i used behind the rosettes to make them look like flowers and give dimension.

I created 6 rosettes. I used (2) 2x12 strips scored at 1/4 inch all the way across the 12 inch length,
(2) 1 1/2x12  also scored at 1/4 inch across the 12 inch length, (1) 1 1/4x12 inch strip scored the same as before and another strip that is 3/4x12 scored in the same manner.

To decorate the insides of the configuration boxes i first papered then embellished. I reached in to my stash once again to use some of my most favorite bobbles. Tons of metals and charms, keys, scrabble pieces, film strip, pearls and dangles just to name a few.

I hope you have enjoyed spending some time here on my blog with me. I also hope you have enjoyed your self thus far on our blog hop. By far this has been one of the funnest and most challenging projects i have done however this is by far my favorite.
